Moonflower Autism Foundation Conducts Professional Training for Future Special Education Teachers

On 16 and 17 October 2026, Mr. Mofijul Islam, Executive Director of Moonflower Autism Foundation, conducted a two-day training session and interactive classes for the Bachelor of Special Education (BSEd) students of Jahanara & Latifar Rahman Special Education Teachers Training College, located in Lalpur, Natore.

The training aimed to enhance students’ knowledge, practical understanding, and professional competencies in special education, with particular emphasis on supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.

During the sessions, students explored important aspects of autism, special and inclusive education, behavioural management, communication development, and appropriate teaching strategies for children with diverse learning needs. The training also highlighted the importance of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), structured teaching approaches, positive behaviour support, and active family involvement in the educational and developmental process.

Through interactive discussions and practical examples, Mr. Mofijul Islam encouraged students to develop a compassionate, child-centred, and evidence-informed approach to teaching. The sessions emphasized that every child has unique strengths, abilities, and learning needs, and that effective special education requires patience, empathy, professional knowledge, and appropriate intervention strategies.

Moonflower Autism Foundation believes that building the capacity of future special education teachers is essential to improving the quality of education and support available to children with autism and other developmental disabilities in Bangladesh.

This initiative reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to sharing professional knowledge, promoting inclusive educational practices, and strengthening the skills of future educators who will play a vital role in creating a more inclusive and supportive society for children with disabilities.
